Katrina unlucky in love, but super lucky in career

As Katrina Kaif celebrates yet another birthday, her career enters yet another interesting phase. Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara a film in which Kat has an interesting cameo has opened to very good collections in prime plexes in Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore.

At the single screens the film is seen as a disaster according to trade sources. The film though it is exorbitantly priced; it was reportedly sold to Eros International at 65 cr; will still manage to recover at least a major portion of its investment because there is a huge craze for Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif.

A trade analyst says, ZNMD recovered 7.5 cr approximately on Friday and Saturday collections could touch 10 cr. There are many block bookings from MNCs and foreign banks at the multiplexes for the weekend, so even Sunday figures should rock. Even if collections plummet on Monday, the film will still do a weekend of around 26.5 cr. It has already reportedly fetched 22-24 cr for satellite rights (there is a 12.5% TDS cut included in the satellite price) and

if other avenues like music and home video get added the film will definitely get 55 cr in its first run.''

Of course the balance, 10 cr approximately will still need to be collected but ZNMD looks poised for a good box office run the second weekend too.

The trade feels that Kat is the lucky mascot for Bollywood. A personal friend of the actress and filmmaker who will start work with her soon says, 'The adage unlucky in love, but lucky in career,' seems to be working for Kat. Her relationships with Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor ran into rough weather, but she has managed a very good run at the box office. Even in the case of ZNMD, there are technically three heroesHrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol but Kat is being seen as the fourth hero. She has a huge draw with metro crowds.''
