No verdict has been issued in the last trial session of the three US nationals detained in Iran on charges of espionage and illegal entry, their lawyer Masoud Shafiee says.
“The fourth and last trial session to address the charges against Shane Bauer, Joshua Fattal and Sarah Shourd was held Sunday morning in the Branch 15 of Tehran's Revolution Court behind closed doors,” Shafiee said.
“According to the law, the court is obligated to issue the verdict within one week,” ISNA quoted him as saying.
Bauer, Fattal and Shourd were arrested in July 2009 after illegally crossing the border into Iran from the mountains of northern Iraq's Kurdistan region.
Shourd was released on a bail of USD 500,000 in September -- 14 months after her arrest. Iran said the decision was made on humanitarian grounds.
Shourd was not present at the previous sessions of the trial; however, her lawyer submitted a statement on her behalf.
The three American nationals have pleaded not guilty.
