A senior Iranian cleric says recent developments in Arab nations and the Middle East region indicate that the Muslim world has entered an awakening phase.
“The Muslim world has entered a phase of awakening and the Muslim Ummah has, in the true sense of the word, realized [the concepts of] prophecy and revelation,” Ayatollah Mohammad Emami-Kashani told worshippers at the Friday Prayers in Tehran, IRNA reported.
“Muslim communities have come to see the fact that they have arrived at nihilism and are [now] seeking the way founded by [the Founder of the Islamic Revolution,] Imam Khomeini, and that is the path of awakening and movement,” he stated.
The cleric said although the West is afflicted by nihilism, “Muslims in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia are fighting with their lives to achieve this goal (treading the path of awakening).”
Ayatollah Emami-Kashani further called on Muslim scholars and clergy across the globe, particularly in Egypt, to illuminate the different aspects of Islam and its principles and teachings, and encourage solidarity and amity in the Muslim world.
