Hizbul Mujahideen condemns Indian army’s statement

ISLAMABAD, Jul 24 (APP): Hizbul Mujahideen has said that the Kulgam incident is not first of its kind where Indian army has raped a woman but many such instances have taken place across the Kashmir Valley. The Hizbul Mujahideen spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly denounced the assertion of General Officer Commanding 15th Corps, Lt. General, Syed Ata Hasnain, in which he stated that other than military men, militants (mujahideen) used army uniforms and their involvement in the Kulgam incident could not be ignored, reports said.

“The women herself says that she was raped by army,” he said, adding that there were evidence in past 22 years that Indian troops and personnel of paramilitary were involved in rape and molestation but no one was punished.
The spokesman said that the incident was highly condemnable and one of the worst examples of human rights violations perpetrated by the Indian army in the occupied territory. He urged the international human rights bodies to take notice of such inhuman acts committed by men in uniform, which had made life and dignity of Kashmiri people miserable.
