Promotion of Islamic values emphasised

BAHAWALPUR – Islamia University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Mukhtar has underscored the need for promoting the Islamic values.
“With the promotion of Islamic values, a peaceful society can be developed and the most accomplished lessons of human rights have been imparted through the sacred life of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUP),” Prof Mukhtar said while addressing the participants of a two-day seminar on human rights in the concluding session here at the varsity campus organised by the university in collaboration with the Punjab Ministry of Human Rights and Minority Affairs.
He said, “We must avoid bringing harm to someone with our speech or act and must ensure to fulfil our duties. We must also play role of an active and responsible citizen in the society.
Bahawalpur Commissioner Muhammad Mushtaq Ahmed highlighted various aspects of the life of Holy Prophet (SAW).
Former federal law minister Shahida Jameel gave an extensive lecturer on the topic of human rights, saying; “We has displayed discipline, integrity and tolerance during the Pakistan movement and achieved the success. We need the same spirit again for progress and prosperity.”
She also praised Bahawalpur people for their hospitality, which depicts their glorious past. Later, certificates were distributed among the participants.
