US after Pak nukes: Nejad

TEHRAN (Agencies) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday accused Washington, Tehran’s arch-foe, of planning to sabotage Pakistan’s nuclear facilities, during a media conference in Tehran. “We have precise information that America wants to sabotage the Pakistani nuclear facilities in order to control Pakistan and to weaken the government and people of Pakistan,” the Iranian president said. The United States would then use the UN Security Council “and some other international bodies as levers to prepare the ground for a massive presence (in Pakistan) and weaken the national sovereignty of Pakistan,” he added.
Ahmadinejad’s remarks came nearly two weeks after NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said that security of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons is a matter of concern. “I feel confident that Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal is safe and well protected,” said Rasmussen late May, but meantime added, “But of course it is a matter of concern and we follow the situation closely.” Ahmadinejad said the US administrations have entirely similar nature. “The US previous administration wore a mask and the new one is wearing a new mask. The previous administration ran a violent trend of Islam which was entirely an American Islam,” Ahmadinejad said. “The US new administration is seeking American Islam of another kind —the liberal Islam - which recognises the US and Zionist regime’s domination and is ready to move in a direction determined by the US.”
“Nowadays, all people are aware that wars, problems, terror, killings and dictatorships which have been ruling over past decades are results of the system of domination, particularly the US and its allies,” he added. “No change was made in policies of the hegemonic system and only mottos and ways have changed.”
“The major figures in the US who make plots are behind the scene and those who are in front of the scene are agents picked by the figures to carry out their pre-determined missions,” the Iranian President added.
Also regarding the issue of Bin Laden, he said, “over recent developments, we saw that they arrested an individual, as they declared in media, and dropped his body to the sea. The man (Bin Laden) was an oil partner of the former US President’s family. The person has been kept by the US military and based on our reliable information they had made him sick and killed him. Their goal is completely clear. They face election and they want to win votes.”
“One serious question has left, why did they drop his body into the sea? They would be disgraced if the body had remained and experiments showed that they had killed him while he was sick.”
“We have reliable news that Americans are seeking sabotage in Pakistani nuclear settlements to dominate Pakistan and undermine government and nation.”
The Iranian president noted that colonialists used the 9/11 attacks as a pretext to launch their largest military invasion on the [Middle East] region in order to “save from destruction the ailing economy of themselves and the Zionist regime (Israel) as the main base of ultra-modern colonialism.”
Monitoring Desk adds: Sources in the US administration rejected the Iranian president’s claim that America is planning to sabotage Pakistan’s nuclear sites, saying that Washington and Islamabad would continue cooperation in the fight against terror, reported a private TV channel on Tuesday.
