Largest known planet discovered

The existence of a gigantic gassy exoplanet, which is believed to be the largest known planet, cannot be explained by the current models.

A team of international scientists have discovered a new exoplanet, beyond the solar system, orbiting a sun in a distanced galaxy, which is believed to be the largest known planet.

The planet TrES-4 is about 1.7 times the size of Jupiter. It is located about 1,400 light-years away from the Earth.

The extra-solar planet is considered to be very light and inflated, with a temperature of 2,300 degrees. A researcher at Lowell Observatory Georgi Mandushev said the "gas giant" has extremely low density. Therefore, the surface of the planet is not very firm.

The bloated planet is about over four million miles from its sun, over ten times closer than Mercury to our Sun. As a result, the planet orbits its star every 3.55 days.

"TrES-4 is way bigger than it's supposed to be," Mandushev continued. Its existence cannot be explained by the current models.
